Sentinels in Motion (June 3, 2025)
For the first time in program history, Stella Maris Academy had several athletes qualify for the Section 7A Track & Field Championships! Aiden, Logan, Iris, Bryn, and Iris represented SMA on Wednesday, May 28th, at the University of Minnesota Duluth. Additionally, by placing 1st and 2nd in the 1600m run, Logan and Aiden have advanced to the Minnesota State Track & Field Championships! Wish them luck as they race at State on June 11th in St. Michael-Albertville. Go, Sentinels!
Hello Sentinel Nation,
As summer approaches and another remarkable year of Sentinel activities concludes, I want to share how Stella Maris Academy has financially supported our growing student activities—and outline our vision for the future.
When you register your child for an activity, the registration fee helps offset program costs. However, these fees cover less than 45% of total expenses. To fund the remaining 55%, we established an Activities Fundraising Committee of SMA staff and parents. This committee hosts fundraising events and develops long-term funding strategies.
The visual below shows our current plan. The committee has launched two major annual events and implemented two fundraising platforms. This fall, we're introducing a new parent-driven initiative allowing families to raise funds for their children's specific activities. Additionally, our SMA Phase III We're All In capital campaign addresses long-term facility needs.
Our goal is to ease the fundraising burden on our coaches—allowing them to focus on mentoring students—while building a sustainable structure to fully fund all SMA activities.
We share this information to keep our families informed and invite your participation. Together, we're growing SMA activities sustainably and purposefully—creating opportunities for our students to thrive while forming young people who lead, love, and serve as Jesus taught.
Thank you for supporting Sentinel activities. We're excited about our future!
